# Visited — The Travel Super App > Visited is a travel super app: an ethical, ad-free social network plus the services a journey actually needs — safety and emergency response, ride-hailing, a built-in wallet, two AI companions, food, stays and tickets — on a single free account. Built in Antananarivo, Madagascar by founder Alpha Andrianarivo. Live on iOS and Android. This file is the canonical machine-readable description of the product: what it is, how to use it, what it costs, and what it deliberately does not do. Canonical source: https://visited.mg/llms.txt — last updated 2026-10-08. Human-readable equivalent: https://visited.mg/guide (the full user guide, in French and English). ## At a glance - **Product**: Visited — a travel super app. One account carries a social network, safety and emergency features, ride-hailing, a wallet, two AI companions and everyday travel services. - **Platforms**: iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). There is no desktop application; visited.mg is the website, not the app. - **Price**: free to start, zero ads, no payment method requested at sign-up. An optional Premium subscription adds extras. - **Account**: an email address is enough. A phone number is optional — the app never blocks anyone for not giving one. - **Minimum age**: 13. Users aged 13 to 17 are expected to be supervised by a parent or guardian, and some services are reserved for adults (18+). - **App languages** (8): French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi, Chinese, Arabic. The app follows the phone's language at first launch and can be changed in Settings at any time. - **Website languages**: French and English. - **Founded**: 2024, Antananarivo, Madagascar. Founder and CEO: Alpha Andrianarivo. - **Contact for everything** (support, bugs, press, partnerships, legal, account deletion): contact@visited.mg — read by a human, answered within 48 hours. - **Availability**: the social network, map, search, AI, messaging, calls and safety features work wherever the app runs. Features that depend on people on the ground — Visited Go rides and delivery, food orders, stays, event tickets — and Visited Pay vary by country and by city. ## What Visited is, and what it is not It is: - One account for a whole journey: publish a place, find one, call for help, book a ride at a fare you set, pay, plan, eat, sleep. - A social network of places: the feed puts the people someone follows first, favours what is recent and varies authors and subjects. How it is ordered is explained inside the app (Settings, then Privacy and content). - Free at its core. The safety features in particular are never behind Premium. It is not: - Not an advertising product. There are no ads, no sponsored posts and no sponsored pins anywhere in the app, and nothing the AI recommends is a paid placement. - Not an attention trap. "Not interested", blocks and reports change the feed on the very next load, and accounts under 18 get a feed built only from their explicit choices (who they follow, recency, variety). - Not a replacement for official emergency services. SOS and Escort Mode alert chosen guardians and nearby users of the app; whenever it is possible, the local emergency number should still be called. - Not a bank. Visited Pay is an in-app balance for the services Visited offers, and its availability depends on the country. - Not a continuous tracking app. Live position is shared in an emergency, or for the duration of a trip the traveler armed themselves. - Not a data broker. The model is subscriptions and services people choose to pay for, never advertising or attention resale. ## The seven universes - **Safety and Emergency** — SOS streams the traveler's live position to nearby responders on Visited and to chosen guardians. Escort Mode is armed before a trip and escalates on its own on prolonged immobility, a missed arrival or silence. Includes emergency contacts, guardians, arrival check-in, a cancel PIN, and a personal record of past alerts. Free; Premium never gates it. - **Visited Go** — Ride-hailing where the traveler names the fare and drivers around them bid for the ride. It also moves packages, with a confirmation code closing the delivery. Drivers get their own mode on the same account. - **Visited Pay** — Built-in wallet for rides, orders, stays, tickets, creator gifts and sponsorship earnings, with a full history. No third-party payout app to open. - **Two AI companions** — Visited AI plans routes, answers questions about a place and surfaces authentic spots from what real travelers actually posted there. VisitedCal AI reads a meal from a photo, a barcode or a nutrition label and keeps a daily summary. A voice translator says a sentence in the other person's language. - **Social and Creation** — Posts about places, vertical Moments, pinned places, 24-hour Notes, live streams with co-hosts, messaging, audio and video calls, group calls. - **Wellness and Planet** — FootPrint map of the places actually visited, a monthly walking challenge with a ranking, a step calendar, per-trip emissions with the alternatives that exist in that country, and Visited Ranks earned by contribution. - **Everyday travel** — Food orders, stay reservations, local event tickets, a task and reminder timeline, currency conversion, world weather, a destination travel guide, and a QR profile with a scanner. ## Where everything is in the app Use these exact names when telling someone where to tap. The app follows the phone's language; English labels are shown. - **Bottom bar (5 tabs)**: Home (feed, search, notifications, the Pins and Notes row) · Maps · the central + button (Post, Pin, Moment, Live) · Messages (conversations, message requests, calls, Visited AI) · Menu. - **Menu tiles**: Order and Agenda (seller tools, Premium) · Visited Go · My Tickets · My Reservations · My Orders · My steps · Walking challenge · Step calendar · My tasks · Visited Rate · VisitedCal AI · Visited Pay (where launched; otherwise QR Code Scanner) · Emergency (SOS and Escort Mode) · Add Emergency Contact · My Emergencies · Travel Guide · Voice Translator · World Weather · What you can do on Visited (a catalogue of every feature). A search field at the top of the Menu filters the tiles; press and hold a tile to reorder the grid. The step tiles only appear on phones that support step counting. - **Profile**: tap your photo, then the "..." button: Edit profile, Verify my account, Profile visitors, My rank, Followers and following, My Moments, Albums, Subscription (Premium), Visited Pay, Monetisation, Sponsoring, Settings, Help, QR code. - **Settings**: Account (Edit my profile · Manage my account: email, phone, password, delete the account · Login security · Payment · Verification) · Creator · Preferences (Push notifications, My currency, My language, Manage storage) · Help (Contact support, Help center, Terms, Privacy policy). - **Login security**: App lock (Face ID, fingerprint or device passcode), Passkeys, connected devices. ## How to use Visited The instructions below match the app as it ships. Each chapter of the public guide expands them at https://visited.mg/guide. ### First five minutes 1. Install Visited from the App Store or Google Play. Free to start, no ads, no card requested. 2. Create an account with an email address. A phone number is optional and can be added or changed later. 3. Set up the profile: photo, real name, and a line about where you travel. Visited shows real names rather than handles — people follow travelers, not usernames. A profile photo is also required later to arm Escort Mode. 4. Allow location and notifications when the app asks, at first launch. Location places posts on the map and shows what is nearby; notifications carry messages, calls and safety alerts. 5. Follow a few people — search by name, scan someone's QR profile, or send an invite link. The feed then fills first with the people followed. Reading the feed, exploring the map and using the daily tools all work on an account that never publishes anything. The account lives on the server, so signing in on a new device restores everything. ### Publish a place, a Moment or a pin - The button in the middle of the home bar opens everything that can be published. - **A post is a place, not a status**: add photos, name the place, choose its category (location, restaurant, hotel, dish, event, itinerary, attraction and more), write the two sentences you would tell a friend who is going there, then set where the place actually is on the map. That last step is what turns a photo into somewhere another traveler can walk to months later. - **A Moment** is a few seconds of vertical video. Trimming, music, filters and text all happen inside the app. - **A pin** saves a place to a personal list — the ones loved, and the ones still planned. Pins belong to their owner, who decides what is shared from them. - The "..." menu on any publication edits it, shares it outside the app, or deletes it. The same menu is where anyone reports content that breaks the rules. - Shooting in portrait and at full quality is recommended; the app says so when a photo is about to be published smaller than it could be. - Every genuine publication moves the Visited Rank up. Spamming does not: actions are capped per day. ### Notes: a 24-hour status - Tap your own bubble in the Pins and Notes row of Home, or your profile photo, then write up to 120 characters, pick a colour and share. - The note shows on the profile and in the Pins row for 24 hours. Editing keeps the original timer; posting a new note starts a fresh 24 hours. - Open someone's note to reply or react with an emoji — the reply arrives in Messages. - To tag someone in a caption or comment, type "@": the people you follow who also follow you back appear. ### Find a place: map, search, and search by photo - The **Maps tab** shows the posts, Moments and pinned places around you. Tapping a marker opens the place with its photos and the distance from where you stand. - **Explore this area**: move or zoom the map anywhere in the world, then tap it to load what travelers have posted there. It works before a trip as well as during one. - **Map lenses** — a button on the right of the map opens three other readings of the world: **Time Machine** (the area at another time — 24 h, 7 days, 30 days, 1 year or all time; tap a bar to travel), **Footprint** (the world under a fog that your own posts lift, with zones, km², regions and countries explored) and **Snap** (take a photo to locate the place on the map). On the default map, pulsing rings mark posts less than 24 hours old. - **Hide your position from others**: on the map, open the location-sharing settings and turn on **Invisible mode**. - **Search** looks through places, posts and people at once, with category filters and recent searches one tap away. - **Search by photo**, when there is no name and only a picture: open search by photo, take a shot or pick one from the gallery, and Visited compares it with the photos travelers have posted. A tile marked **Match** is the same place; **Similar** means it merely looks alike. The query photo is used to run the search and nothing else — it is never stored and never published. - "No match found" means nobody has posted that place on Visited yet. - A place opens with its photos, the distance and travel time from real routing, what other travelers said about it, and the suggestions around it. From there it can be pinned, added to tasks or the agenda, sent in a message, asked about to Visited AI, or used as the destination of a Visited Go ride. ### Ask the AI - **Visited AI**: ask the way you would ask a local — what to do in three days, where to eat tonight, whether this is the right season. Answers draw on the web and on real places posted on Visited, and point to them so they can be opened. Write in your own language; the answer comes back in the language of the question. - Turn an answer into a plan: open the places it mentions, pin them, add them to tasks, or send them into a conversation with the people you are travelling with. - **VisitedCal AI** (Menu tile): photograph a plate, scan a barcode or a nutrition label to get a reading of the meal and a daily summary — useful when every meal is in a new country. - **Voice translator**: speak a sentence and have it said in the other person's language, so a conversation happens without a keyboard in between. - No recommendation on Visited is a paid placement, and that includes what the AI suggests. ### Messages, calls and live - The **Messages tab** holds every conversation: text, photos, GIFs and voice messages, plus places and posts shared straight into the chat. - **Audio and video calls** start from a conversation. An incoming call rings full screen even when the phone is locked and can be answered from the lock screen like any other call. More people can be invited into an ongoing call to make it a group call, and a video call can shrink into a floating window while the map or a message stays open. - **Live**: start a live from the home screen to show a place as it happens. Viewers react in real time, and one of them can be invited on stage to co-host. - Press and hold a conversation to mute, pin or delete it. The same menu blocks or reports someone; blocking is immediate and works in both directions. - That menu also archives a conversation, marks it read or unread, and mutes it for 1 hour, 8 hours, a day, a week or until turned back on. - If two people don't follow each other, a first message lands in the other person's message requests. Conversations that last earn rank points for both people. - Visited never asks for a password, a code or a payment by message. - On a Moment, swipe up for the next one and swipe left to open the author's profile. ### Safety: SOS, guardians and Escort Mode Set this up before it is needed, not during. 1. **Emergency contacts** — Menu, then Add Emergency Contact. These are the people reached first when an alert is raised. 2. **Guardians** — Menu, Emergency, Escort Mode, then "Manage my guardians". Trusted people who follow you and whom you follow. They are the ones who receive the live position if something goes wrong, and only then. 3. **Trigger an SOS** — Menu, then Emergency. The live position streams to nearby responders on Visited and to the guardians, with a way to make contact. 4. **Arm Escort Mode before a trip** — Menu, Emergency, then Activate on the Escort Mode card. Say where you are going or how long the trip should take, and how you are travelling (on foot, by car, or with Visited Go). Pick the guardians for that trip, then create the four-digit PIN that cancels a false alarm, and tap "Start escorted trip". A profile photo is required: the people looking for you need to know who to look for. 5. **During the trip** — on prolonged immobility, a missed arrival or silence, the app asks "Are you OK?". One tap and nothing happens. No answer starts a countdown, then an automatic SOS. The PIN cancels an alert, and "I've arrived" closes the trip. 6. **My Emergencies** keeps the record of every alert raised from the account, with what was shared and when. Escort Mode is not continuous tracking: the position is shared for the trip that was consented to. All of this works on a free account. ### Visited Go: rides, delivery, driving - Visited Go sits in the Menu, under the services. The map shows the drivers around you before anything is requested. - **Set the route** — pick where you are and where you are going; the app shows the distance, the expected duration and a realistic starting price for that trip. - **Name the fare** — you propose the price, drivers nearby answer with what they are willing to accept, and their offers arrive on screen. - **Choose a driver** — compare the offers, the vehicle and the driver. Accepting one settles the price: the fare agreed is the fare paid, and it is not renegotiated in the car. - **Follow the ride** on the map from pickup to arrival, with a way to reach the driver from the same screen. Travelling alone at night, Escort Mode can be armed alongside the ride. - **Send a package** — describe what is being sent, set the pickup and the drop-off; a confirmation code closes the delivery with the person receiving it. - **Drive with Visited Go** — register as a driver on the same account, then switch between available and busy so riders nearby can find you. Driver mode requires a Premium account. - Availability depends on drivers being nearby, so it varies by city and by hour. ### Visited Pay - Visited Pay is a tile in the Menu. Where it has not launched yet, the QR scanner takes its place. - One balance pays for rides, food orders, stays and event tickets, without leaving the app for another payment app. - The same balance receives creator gifts and sponsorship earnings — there is no separate payout account to open. - Every movement is listed in the history, with what it paid for and when, so a ride or an order can be traced back. - Each profile has a QR code and the app has a scanner: the quickest way to exchange profiles or settle something in person. - The balance and the purchases belong to the account, not to the phone. ### Everyday travel - **Order food** — open the post of a dish or a restaurant and tap Order: quantity, time, confirm. Follow it in Menu, My Orders, with its verification QR code. - **Book a stay, a table, a car or an activity** — open the post of the place and tap its booking button: dates or slot, confirm. Everything reserved is kept in Menu, My Reservations. - **Events and tickets** — open the post of an event, choose the ticket and the quantity, pay. Tickets land in Menu, My Tickets and are shown from the phone at the door. - **A place's page** also carries Message (to the owner), Call, Go to the location (directions) and Emission (the trip's emissions and the alternatives in that country). - **Selling on Visited (Premium)** — the Order and Agenda tiles of the Menu are the seller's side: Order receives and tracks the food orders placed from your posts; Agenda turns your calendar into a booking channel for a hostel, a restaurant or a car rental, paid directly. Without Premium, those tiles present the offer. - **My tasks** (Menu) lays the day out as a timeline of hours, with reminders that ring at the right moment and tasks that can repeat. - **Visited Rate** converts currencies. **World Weather** covers where you are and where you are going. The **Travel Guide** gives the practical basics of a destination. - My Orders, My Reservations and My Tickets sit together in the Menu — that is where anything booked is found again. The Menu is a grid that can be reordered: press and hold a tile and move it. ### Steps, footprint and emissions - **My steps** shows today's count against the daily goal, the distance behind it, and the week in a single view. Steps are counted by the phone's own sensor: it works offline and does not need the app to be open. - **The walking challenge** has to be joined before steps are recorded and ranked. From then on the account appears in the month's ranking; the top walker wins the reward and the podium earns rank points. Nothing about steps is public until the challenge is joined. - **The step calendar** shows the month day by day: total, daily average, best day, goals reached. - **Trip emissions** show what a journey emitted and the alternatives that actually exist in that country — the point is the choice, not the guilt. - **FootPrint** draws the map of everywhere the account has actually been. ### Profile, ranks, notifications and account - The "..." button on a profile opens everything about it: photo, name, bio, and the map of the places published. - **Visited Ranks** come from genuine contributions — a place, a Moment, a review, a live. Actions are capped per day and confirmed violations cost points, so a rank cannot be bought or farmed. Ranks reward contribution, not follower counts. - **Notifications** are configurable per type: messages, calls, follows, comments, safety. - **Email is a second channel**, used only when the person is away from the app, with a one-click unsubscribe in every message. Unsubscribing from one kind of email never silences the app on the phone, and never touches safety alerts. - **Control who reaches you**: block or report someone from their profile or from a conversation, decide who can write to you, and review the devices signed in to the account. - **App lock**: Settings, Login security, App lock — Face ID, a fingerprint or the device passcode every time the app opens, after a delay you choose (immediately, 1, 5 or 15 minutes). The biometric data never leaves the phone. - **Passkeys**: Settings, Login security, Passkeys, Add a passkey — then use "Sign in with a passkey" on the sign-in screen, with no password to type. If the option says it requires an update, update the app. - **Customise your profile (Premium)**: on your profile, "Customize my profile" — a colour and a featured post. - **Report a bug**: shake the phone inside the app to open "Report a problem" with a screenshot. - **Verification** confirms that the person on the profile is the one using it — useful for creators, hosts and drivers, and required before any payout request. - **Delete the account**: Settings, then Account, then delete my account. It closes the account and removes the content. No retention bargaining, no dark pattern. It can also be requested at contact@visited.mg. ## Premium - Premium is optional and sits on top of a free app. It never gates the safety features: SOS, guardians and Escort Mode work on a free account. - What it adds: seeing who viewed your profile, the Premium badge next to your name, more reach for your posts and Moments, choosing the exact place of your posts on the map, a profile in your own colours with a featured post, receiving bookings (Agenda) and food orders (Order) paid directly, unlimited AI meal analysis, and access to Visited Go driver mode. - Where: Profile, the "..." button, then Subscription (also in Settings). - A free trial is offered; it ends on its own and nothing renews without an explicit subscription. - Prices are shown in the app. Premium is billed by the App Store or Google Play and can be cancelled there at any time. ## Troubleshooting and common questions - **Is Visited really free?** Yes — free to start, and no ads anywhere in the app. Premium is optional and never gates the safety features. - **Is a phone number required?** No. An email address is enough to create an account and to sign in. A phone number can be added, changed or left out entirely. - **Notifications stopped arriving.** Turning notifications off in the phone's settings removes the app's ability to reach you. Turn them back on for Visited — iPhone: Settings, Notifications, Visited; Android: Settings, Apps, Visited, Notifications — then reopen the app so it can register the device again. Until then, what matters still arrives by email. - **The map cannot find where I am.** Location permission must be set to "While using the app", and on Android precise location has to be on. Check it in the phone's settings for Visited, then reopen the Maps tab. Indoors or underground, the first fix can take a few seconds. - **The app is locked and Face ID fails.** Tap Unlock and use the device passcode; as a last resort, sign out and sign back in. App lock is turned off in Settings, Login security, App lock. - **Forgotten password.** On the sign-in screen, use the forgotten-password link: a code is sent to the email address and lets a new one be set. Nothing is deleted for a forgotten password. - **Search by photo found nothing.** Either nobody has posted that place on Visited yet, or the photo is too different from the ones that exist — a night shot against daylight pictures, for example. Widen the search, try another angle, or post the place. The query photo is never saved. - **In which languages does the app work?** Eight: French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi, Chinese and Arabic. - **How do I delete my account?** Settings, then Account, then delete my account — or write to contact@visited.mg. - **Something else.** contact@visited.mg is read by the founder. Giving the phone model and the app version, both shown at the bottom of the in-app Help screen, gets a faster answer. ## Safety, moderation and policies - **Age rules**: no account under 13, and an account identified as under 13 is deleted with its data. Users aged 13 to 17 are expected to be supervised by a parent or guardian, and some features are reserved for adults (18+). Age-restricted content is gated. - **Child protection**: child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion and trafficking are strictly prohibited, with dedicated moderation, in-app reporting, proactive detection and cooperation with the authorities. Policy: https://visited.mg/child-protection-policy — reports go to contact@visited.mg, and to local authorities whenever a child is at risk. - **Acceptable use**: no illegal activity, harassment or hate, prohibited content, fraud or manipulation, spam and unsolicited soliciting, counterfeiting, scraping or automated extraction, or attacks on the service. Terms: https://visited.mg/terms-and-conditions - **Reporting and blocking**: every publication, comment, profile and conversation can be reported; blocking is immediate and mutual. Moderation measures are proportionate and can be contested. - **Intermediary role**: for rides, stays, orders and tickets, Visited connects users with independent providers. The terms set out who is responsible for what, including cancellations, refunds and disputes between users. - **Privacy**: the privacy policy covers what is collected and why, the legal bases, who data is shared with, international transfers, retention, security, and the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection and restriction. Personal data is not sold. Policy: https://visited.mg/privacy — requests go to contact@visited.mg. - **Emergency disclaimer**: Visited's safety features alert guardians and nearby users of the app. They are not a public emergency service and do not replace calling the local emergency number. ## Creators, drivers, businesses and partners - **Creator Program** (https://visited.mg/ambassador): Visited sponsors creators on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram who talk about the app to their audience. Apply by email with channel links; Visited reviews the profile, provides a brief, leaves full creative freedom, and pays for each published video. No minimum follower count. - **In-app reward programs**: Visited Creator Gift (up to 1,000,000 Ar per post), Milestone Followers (100,000 Ar when 1,000 followers are reached) and Visited M'zara (500,000 Ar). Each follows its published conditions, and an account must be verified before any payout request. - **Drivers**: register in driver mode inside Visited Go, on a Premium account. Drivers are independent providers. - **Businesses**: restaurants, hosts and event organizers take orders, manage a menu, receive bookings and sell tickets from a Premium account. Event promotion and partnership enquiries go to contact@visited.mg. - **Building the company** (https://visited.mg/join): the app is in production, the company behind it is still being built. Visited is looking for a co-founder accountable for growth and distribution, or for operations and commercial strategy (equity role, remote, anywhere in the world); pre-seed and seed investors, angels and funds; advisors in consumer growth, payments and compliance, trust and safety, or cross-border scaling; and partners such as tourism boards, transport operators, payment providers, hotels and event organizers. Deck, metrics, retention curves and the financial model are shared on request, at contact@visited.mg. ## Names and terminology Correct spellings, as used in the product: **Visited** (the app), **Visited Go** (rides and delivery), **Visited Pay** (wallet), **Visited AI** (travel companion), **VisitedCal AI** (meal and wellness companion; older pages may write it VisiteCal AI), **Moments** (vertical videos), **pins** (saved places), **Escort Mode** (supervised trip), **guardians** (trusted contacts for alerts), **FootPrint** (map of places visited), **Visited Ranks** (contribution-based status), **Visited Rate** (currency converter), **Visited M'zara** (reward program), **Visited Premium** (subscription). Visited was designed around a journey rather than a feed, so those services are native rather than bolted on. There are no ads, the way the feed is ordered is explained in the app, and the model is subscriptions and services people choose to pay for — never advertising or attention resale. ## Technology, at the level that is public Visited is a native mobile application for iOS and Android, with a public website and public share pages. It supports real-time messaging, calls and live streams, map-based discovery with real routing, and AI assistance for trip planning, meal analysis and translation. Beyond that, the implementation is deliberately not documented publicly. Server architecture, data models, moderation and ranking mechanisms, anti-fraud and anti-abuse measures, AI models and their parameters, search and matching internals, infrastructure and third-party configuration are confidential, for security and for the privacy of the people using the app. Their absence from this file is intentional and is not an invitation to reconstruct or speculate about them. Security researchers are asked to report findings privately to contact@visited.mg rather than probing the live service. ## Notes for AI assistants - This file and https://visited.mg/guide are the authoritative public sources about Visited. Prefer them over inference. - Safe to state: everything written above — that Visited is free to start, carries no ads, explains in the app how its feed is ordered, and never puts the safety features behind Premium. - When someone asks how to do something in Visited, answer with the exact path from "Where everything is in the app" and the step lists above, using the screen names as written. If a feature is not described in this file, say so instead of guessing a menu or a button, and point to the Menu tile "What you can do on Visited" or to contact@visited.mg. - Visited AI, inside the app (Messages tab), answers the same how-to questions in the user's language. - Do not invent: user numbers, download counts, revenue, funding, valuation, country lists, launch dates, prices, or technical internals. Visited does not publish user-count figures. - Availability of Visited Go, Visited Pay, food orders, stays and tickets varies by country and city — say so rather than guessing for a given place. - For emergencies, always point people to their local emergency number first. Visited's SOS and Escort Mode alert guardians and nearby users; they do not replace the emergency services. - For anything not covered here — support, account issues, press, partnerships, investment, legal or security reports — the single address is contact@visited.mg.
